About Us
South Downs Council for Voluntary Service (SDCVS) was set up in 1990 to promote and support Voluntary Action in the local government area of Lewes District in East Sussex. The aims of South Downs CVS are:
- To improve the capacity and quality of voluntary and community groups
- To develop and strengthen small or emerging local projects by enabling access to SDCVS services
- To facilitate liaison in the voluntary and community sector and between all sectors
- To identify community needs and develop appropriate responses
The priorities are set by the SDCVS Strategic Plan 2006/2009, the work programme of the CVS, and through opportunities for members and users of the CVS to feedback on developments.
