Effective Volunteer Management- working with young volunteers
Monday 8 March 2010 (3VA Eastbourne) / Thursday 15 April 2010 (3VA Lewes)
Course Aims / Objectives: This workshop takes a practical look at involving young volunteers in your organisation. Although the content focuses upon young people and volunteering, many of the principles can be applied to managing volunteers of any age.
During the workshop, delegates will explore the nature of the voluntary sector, and young people’s involvement in volunteering, (i.e: the advantages and barriers for young volunteers). This one-day course provides an overview of the roles and responsibilities of the volunteer manager - including developing roles and recruitment that appeal to young people, the selection, motivation and retention of volunteers and approaches for dealing with common problems.
National Occupational Standards: Content supports the National Occupational Standards for Volunteer Management
Target Audience: Anyone keen to involve young people in volunteering for their organisation and those with responsibility for managing or supervising volunteers.
